Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision in Armagh city this evening (Thursday).
A car has overturned on Irish Street, just off the Ring Road, across from St Malachy’s Church.
Police, fire and ambulance crews are all dealing with the situation, which happened shortly before 8.30pm.
One eye witness told Armagh I that the overturned car was turning left into the Ring Road shops when it was struck by another vehicle, causing it to overturn.
According to the NI Fire and Rescue Service there were two casualties rescued from the overturned car.
One female suffered only minor injuries and has been treated at the scene, while one male has been handed over to the care of the NI Ambulance Service. His injuries are not understood to be life-threatening.
One crew from Armagh fire station dealt with the incident, using manual release techniques to free the pair who were trapped.
Police have closed the road around the area and motorists are advised to avoid this area of Armagh city for a period while a clear up is complete.
