Joyriding and anti-social behaviour at Armagh hospital site sparks calls for public support

The incidents - which include the deliberate lighting of a fire in the carpark - have set the Trust back 'thousands'

The Southern Health Trust is appealing for public support following reports of joyriding and antisocial behaviour on the beautiful St Luke’s Hospital site, Armagh, in recent weeks.

A Trust spokesperson said: “A wide range of services for adults and children, as well as corporate Trust functions, are provided from the St Luke’s site.

“We have also invested significantly in preserving and enhancing the historic buildings and grounds in recent years.

“Regrettably, a series of recent incidents, including erratic driving and the deliberate lighting of a fire in the car park, has resulted in extensive damage costing thousands of pounds to repair.

“The Trust’s Security Team has been reviewing CCTV footage and is working closely with the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) to identify those responsible.

“We are asking anyone who witnesses suspicious, or antisocial behaviour on the site to note the vehicle registration number, the time and location of the incident, and report it to the PSNI by calling 101.

“We thank the local community for your continued support in helping to safeguard Trust property and maintaining a safe environment for patients, service users, staff and visitors.”

Anyone with information relating to these incidents is encouraged to contact the PSNI on 101.
