Hit and run involving dangerous driving admitted by Collegeland man

Armagh Courthouse

Pre-sentence reports are to be prepared after a number of motoring offences from a hit-and-run were admitted.

John Joseph Hagan, from Lislasley Road, Collegeland drove dangerously after consuming excess alcohol and without insurance.

The 36-year-old also failed to stop and remain at the scene of an accident in which damage was caused and failed to report this to police.

Offending occurred on June 20 near the defendant’s home on the Derryscollop Road.

A defence barrister entered guilty pleas to all matters on Hagan’s behalf at Armagh Magistrates’ Court.

District Judge Anne Marshall decided pre-sentence reports were essential given the nature of the charges and the previous record.

She remanded Hagan on continuing bail to return to court on September 2.
