The future of Armagh City Youth Hostel is currently under consideration, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has said.
The council-owned facility, which is situated on Abbey Street, closed when the Covid pandemic struck in April 2020.
It was then licensed to the Southern Health and Social Care Trust for international nursing accommodation but the Trust vacated the facility last Tuesday.
A Trust spokesperson said the youth hostel was used as a temporary measure for nursing accommodation due to planned facility works on the Craigavon Area Hospital site and that July was the end of the one-year lease.
“These works to convert existing office space into on-site accommodation are now complete and staff are in the process of being relocated,” she added.
Asked about future plans for the youth hostel, a council spokesperson said: “The council is currently undertaking a review of all assets and is considering options for the use of this facility.
“No decision has been made at this stage.”
