Driver cut from car on Irish Street with two people treated for injuries

Two people were treated for injuries sustained in an early morning two-vehicle collision in Armagh.

One of the drivers had to be cut free from the car, while another was treated for minor injuries.

The collision happened at 6am on Wednesday.

A fire crew from Armagh station attended the incident.

A NIFRS spokesperson said: “Firefighters were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision on Irish Street, Armagh this morning.

“Firefighters used cutting equipment to rescue one of the drivers from their vehicle.

“The other driver was out of their vehicle when firefighters arrived.

“Both casualties were taken into the care of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.”

The incident was dealt with by 6.54am.

Police also confirmed their attendance at the scene.

A spokesperson told Armagh I the injuries were not believed to be serious.
