A commemorative bench in Armagh dedicated to those affected by suicide has been vandalised, with its plaque removed.
Posting on social media, Stiofán Mac Cleirigh, from Armagh Men’s Shed, said members were “very sad and angry” at the damage.
The bench, erected by Armagh Men’s Shed, was installed as a quiet place of reflection and remembrance for people impacted by suicide.
Stiofán said the plaque which dedicated the bench has now gone missing.
“Very sad and angry to report that the commemoration bench erected by Armagh Mensshed and dedicated to those affected by suicide, has been vandalised and the plaque is missing,” he wrote.
He appealed to anyone who finds the plaque to return it so the bench can be repaired and restored.
“If you find the plaque please leave it at 18 Drumarg so we can repair the bench,” he added.
