Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann president to visit Co Armagh

Armagh County Board of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is delighted that Comhaltas President Éamonn Ó hArgáin is to visit Co. Armagh traditional music projects and local schools.

Speaking after The President responded positively to his invitation Sean Lenagh Chair of Bord Contae Ard Mhacha said: “I am delighted that Comhaltas President Éamonn Ó hArgáin has accepted my invitation to visit our county and I look forward to his arrival on January 19.

“The President’s visit will give great encouragement to learners and teachers of traditional music in schools and Comhaltas projects throughout the county.

“An tUachtarán has a special interest in the Irish language and he will visit Aonach Mhacha where junior members of Comhaltas will perform for him. Later he will attend a session at which senior members of CCÉ in Co. Armagh will play for him.”

In anticipation of his visit Mr Ó hArgáin said: “Tá an-áthas go deo orm bheith ag teacht go Contae Ard Mhacha. Tá ardchlú ar an chontae ar fheabhas a chuid ceoil. Tá mé ag tnúth go mór le bualadh le ceoltóirí na háite agus lena gcloisteáil ag seinm. Gabhaim buíochas leis an Chathaoirleach as a chuireadh chaoin.

“I appreciate very much the opportunity to visit Comhaltas projects, Aonach Mhacha, and schools in Co. Ard Mhacha and I am looking forward to a day of great music from young and old. I am grateful to the County Chair, Seán Lenagh for his kind invitation.”
