Two young people from young farmers’ clubs in Co Armagh are among those presented with their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards today (Thursday).
HRH Prince Philip presented awards to 115 young people at Hillsborough Castle.
It is expected to be the last official visit to Northern Ireland by Prince Philip who, at 95 years of age, announced earlier this month he would be stepping down from public life.
Elaine Crozier, of College Young Farmers’ Club, and Janice Knight, from Newtownhamilton YFC, were at Hillsborough Castle today.
Collone Young Farmers’ Club said it was “a great achievement for both girls” and an inspiration to others.
The club has also thanked Helen Gibson for her hard work in making it possible.
Congratulations Elaine & Janice on receiving their Gold @DofE Award today at @HillsCastle. Made possible through their membership of YFCU! pic.twitter.com/rxZFxphirE
