A Co Armagh man is understood to have passed away in the Caribbean.
The man was reportedly travelling in the Dominican Republic – a popular tourist destination.
The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) are aware of the case and are liaising with the man’s family.
A spokesperson for the DFA said: “”The Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of this case and is providing consular assistance.
“As with all consular cases, the Department does not comment on the details of individual cases.”
It is unclear, at this stage, the nature of the man’s tragic passing.
In 2024, the DFA provided assistance to 405 families of Irish citizens who died abroad.
