Club year ends on a high for Collone Young Farmers with over £3,000 presented to local charities

'We chose both these charities as they provide vital services to those within rural areas and they are close to the hearts of its members'

Members of Collone YFC presenting their combined donation of £3,200 to their charities for last year, PIPS Hope and Support and Rural Support.

Two very worthwhile causes have had their efforts boosted thanks to the sterling work of Collone Young Farmers.

More than £3,000 has been raised over the past year by club members – a fantastic result for the young people.

And now cheques have been handed over – £1,600 each – to Rural Support and PIPS Hope and Support.

These donations were made possible from the club’s commitment to fundraising and doing their bit to help others in their time of need.

A special presentation evening was staged, with representatives of each coming along to detail how the money raised will one put to good use.

A spokesperson for Collone Young Farmers said: “We chose both these charities as they provide vital services to those within rural areas and they are close to the hearts of its members.

“The club began their fundraising in June by holding events at Armagh County Show. They then held a very successful tractor run in August with over 100 tractors in attendance!

“To complete their fundraising the club held their annual Harvest Service with the collection being donated to their charities.”

To raise such an amount required a great deal of help and backing from others.

And that same in no short supply.

“The club would like to thank all members, their families and members of the community for their support, as donating over £3,000 pounds to charity would not be possible without it,” added the spokesperson.

“It was a fantastic way to mark the end of the 2025/26 club year.”
