Brazen thieves clear out van of power tools in Armagh City Hotel car park

Armagh City Hotel

Thousands of pounds worth of power tools were stolen from a van in Armagh this evening (Tuesday).

The owner of the van has appealed to Armagh I readers for help following the brazen act outside the Armagh City Hotel.

Melvin Nicholl says the van was broken into and cleared out – costing the tradesman approximately £2-3,000 – in the hotel’s car park between 5pm and 8.45pm.

Despite holding little hope for the return of the items, Mr Nicholl says he wants to make it as difficult as possible for them to be sold on.

Some of the items stolen included: Makita chop saw 110v; Dewalt planer 110v; Dewalt finish nailer 18v; Paslode framing nailer; Metabo combi set including drill driver and impacter 18v 5.2amp batteries; Panasonic cordless drill 14.4v and smart multi tool.

If you have any information which could help, please contact police on 101.

Unfortunately the area of the car park in which Mr Nicholl had parked his van has poor CCTV coverage.
