An exciting new chapter is on the horizon for the owner of one of Armagh’s most reputable day spas.
Award-winning day spa and beauty salon, The White Orchid on Victoria Street, has entered the property market as a going concern with its owner set to embark upon her next adventure – in more ways than one!
Speaking to Armagh I, owner and manager, Jennifer McKearney, explained that the anticipated pitter-patter of tiny feet are behind her decision to sell.
The expectant mother, who is due in April and also became engaged to her fiancé Liam just last week, explained: “I suppose from I found out I was pregnant I just started to think about what The White Orchid in Armagh was going to look like.
“At the minute I’m doing between 50 to 60 hours a week and wee babies change so much and so quickly.
“It’s brilliant that the salon took off the way that it did, it’s not to say the business isn’t busy, it is. It’s just too busy!
“I just need something a wee bit easier.”
It would be fair to say that The White Orchid has been Jennifer’s first baby since its doors opened in 2016, and as such, she has nurtured its development year on year.
The salon now boasts seven ‘fully equipped treatment rooms’, a welcoming entrance hallway, reception area, functional kitchen and a choice of four bathroom facilities.
In 2021, it picked up the prestigious Spa of the Year title in the Ulster Tatler Awards and Jennifer made the decision to expand her offerings with the introduction of a “new-look relaxation room”, which she extended into the garden area to include a hot tub, sauna, seating area and fire pit.

Understandably, with the success she has enjoyed over the last eight years, the business name has become dear to Jennifer and so she has decided to retain ownership of ‘The White Orchid’ moniker as she sows the seeds for her next chapter.
While it may be goodbye to the premises on Victoria Street, it’s but a brief hiatus for The White Orchid which will be blossoming into a new variation of itself in 2025.
“I’m actually going to be relocating and opening a retreat in Derrynoose,” explained Jennifer.
The move is a deliberate design to help make life more manageable for the first-time parents, who already have their hands full with golden retrievers, Alvin and Theo.
“I’m going to do my own hours and work when I can but we will be offering all the same things in a more manageable way to work it around baba,” she added. “I’m actually looking forward to a slightly slower pace.”
The sale of the business is being handled by Armagh-based estate agency, Property Link with price available on application.
Described as a “thriving business” that provides an “ideal opportunity for someone with a keen interest to develop their business, or someone willing to take on a new business venture”.
