Award-winning and long-established Armagh city centre restaurant goes on the market

Embers Armagh

An award-winning and long-established Armagh city centre restaurant has gone on the market.

Embers – based on Market Street – has been run by husband and wife team John and Sarah Murray for many years.

The 100-seated restaurant, based over two levels, is up for sale as a “thriving going concern”.

Selling agent CPS Property has described it as “a truly outstanding opportunity” to acquire “a well-established and highly regarded restaurant”.

They add: “This presents a rare chance for seasoned restaurateurs, chefs, or ambitious entrepreneurs, to take over a fully equipped and operational venue in a prime city centre, high-visibility location in the heart of Armagh.

“Situated overlooking the bustling Market Street, Embers benefits from unparalleled footfall and a commanding presence in the Armagh’s City Centre’s vibrant hospitality scene, promising continued success under new ownership to include ideally situated for the many events that take place in The Market Place Theatre.”

The agent noted that the building is not for sale but rather its contents and existing business, which will continue to operate until a buyer is found.

Just last month, Elsie’s café – based on Upper English Street – announced its closure after six wonderful years of service in the heart of Armagh.

The café, which was formally The Rainbow Café, opened in 2019 under the new owners and has been a welcoming dining experience for its many loyal customers.
