Armagh RTC: Two people rushed to Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast

Two people have been rushed to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast following a serious single-vehicle collision in Armagh on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services were tasked to the scene at the junction of Killylea Road and St Patrick’s Park shortly after midday.

The collision, which resulted in serious injuries to two people, involved a single motorcycle.

A spokesperson for the NI Ambulance Service (NIAS) said: “We received a 999 call at 12.10pm on Wednesday, July 17 following reports of a road traffic collision in the St Patricks Park area, Armagh.

“NIAS despatched one Emergency Crew and one Rapid Response Paramedic to the incident.

“The Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board was also tasked to attend.

“Following initial assessment and treatment, two patients were taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by ambulance.”

A police spokesperson added: “Police received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision, involving a motorcycle, in the St Patrick’s Park area of Armagh shortly after 12.10pm today.

“Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service also attended the scene, and the motorcyclist was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening at this time.”
