An Armagh man has appeared in court charged with sexual communication with a child.
Brian McCauley (48), of Jubilee Park, appeared before Armagh Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Newry Courthouse on Tuesday.
He spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
McCauley faces three charges, namely sexual communication with a child, causing a child under 13 to watch a sexual video and sending an unwanted sexual image.
The charges, which are alleged to have taken place on March 29 this year, were read to him and he was asked if he understood them.
A police constable was asked if they could connect the accused to the charges, which they confirmed.
A prosecution solicitor told the court that the full file had been requested in the case, and they were requesting a four week adjournment until October 22.
District Judge Anne Marshall remanded McCauley on police bail with a number of conditions.
He is to have no contact with the victim or their family; have no unsupervised contact with a person under 17; and to have no possession of an internet-enabled device.
The case will be heard again in Armagh Magistrates’ Court on October 22.
