Mamo Building Supplies, a leading construction and civil engineering company located on the outskirts of Armagh City, is making a remarkable impact in their local community.
Following their Annual Tractor Run on July 27 last year, the company where thrilled to present an incredible £10,000 to Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.
This impressive contribution wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the event’s main sponsor, H2Flow Water Management, also based in Armagh, whose generosity played a key role.
Mamo Building Supplies also expressed their gratitude to the many tractor enthusiasts who turned up in force to show their support for this life-saving cause.
Kerry Anderson, Head of Fundraising for Air Ambulance NI, recently welcomed members of the Mamo team to the airbase in Lisburn, where she gratefully accepted the generous cheque.
Reflecting on the importance of the donation, she said:
“Accidents can happen at any time — whether it’s a farming accident, a road traffic collision, a medical emergency, a workplace or sports-related incident. Our helicopter can reach a patient within minutes, delivering life-saving interventions right at the scene.
“We are deeply thankful for the support from Mamo Building Supplies, whose donation will fund an entire day and a half of this critical service. This means that at least three patients, facing the worst circumstances, will receive the urgent care they need, anywhere in Northern Ireland. Thank you.”
Air Ambulance NI operates the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. This vital service provides urgent medical assistance across the province, operating seven days a week, 12 hours a day. The HEMS team are called upon twice daily delivering advanced pre-hospital care directly to patients who are critically ill or injured, with the goal of saving lives, brains, and limbs.
As a local charity, Air Ambulance NI must raise £2.5 million annually to sustain this essential service. Community support and corporate partnerships are vital to ensuring that this life-saving service continues.
