This year’s Armagh I ‘People of the Year Awards’ in partnership with Armagh Credit Union are in full swing! Over the past month, our team have been surprising local heroes throughout county Armagh.
And for the third year in a row, Tarasis Enterprises have also played a part in helping us recognise these special people by kindly sponsoring the glass trophies.
This year, there are eight very deserving winners with categories including Inspirational Young Person, Carer of the Year, Community Impact, Overcoming Adversity to Succeed, Champion of the Arts, Inspirational educator, Rescues Champion and Lifetime Achievement – Special Recognition.
Tarasis Enterprises mission is to use ‘the power of our business to create a better world’ and proactively tackle social and environmental issues across the island of Ireland through their different business divisions.
Janine McNally, Executive Office Manager, spoke to Armagh I about Tarasis Enterprises and their awards involvement.
“As an Armagh based company that works closely with the local community, we wanted to be directly involved with Armagh I’s People of the Years Awards. As a local business, we like to support the local community and we do that through Tarasis Enterprises itself, iCare Charity and Evolve Women.
“The awards feed in really well with our ethos in giving back to the community. It’s lovely to recognise local heroes and celebrate them as often, these people are doing things quietly so it’s lovely to see them receive some recognition for their work.
“There is more good than bad and its important to remember that and shine a light on the good.
“This is our third year being involved in the awards, it’s always been a great positive event that we are proud to be apart of.”
Tarasis Enterprises comprises multiple divisions across different industries including health and wellbeing, care and support, housing solutions, renewables, regeneration and community impact. Through each division, they work to provide for those who may be in need.
A key division in the Tarasis Enterprise is the iCare Charity which was established in 2010 to create a positive change in society by delivering acts of kindness. Since its development, iCare has supported over 2000 families each year, providing vital funds and supplies to those in need. Currently, iCare are running a competition to win a trip to New York with all funds raised going to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
