Appeal for information after farming waste fly-tipped in Armagh

Fly tipping Ennislare Road Armagh 10-11-23

Council have appealed to the public to come forward with any information in relation to a recent fly-tipping incident in Armagh.

It is believed that the material – which included white wrapped bales of hay and plastic containers for cattle milking equipment – was dumped in the ditch along the Ennislare Road last weekend (November 4-5).

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council say ratepayers will be left to pick up the clean-up bill and warned that those caught fly-tipping can face up to £400 fixed penalty fines.

A council spokesperson said: “We want anyone who has information in relation to this latest fly-tipping incident to get in touch, by calling us on 0300 0300 900.

“The removal of this waste is at the expense of the ratepayers, and we all pay the price for these types of incidents.

“Dumping of waste materials into the environment is extremely damaging and hazardous for habitats. As well as being unsightly it costs significant sums to clean up.”

They added: :If you have any larger items you need to dispose or would like further information on the waste services provided by Armagh City Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council then visit council’s website at, download the ABC Council App or telephone 0300 0300 900 for more information.”
