Ali spreads festive cheer with free Christmas Day dinners for those in need

'There are many people in our community who will go without luxuries this Christmas and some that won't be able to have a hot meal on Christmas Day'

Ali, owner of Gringos Takeaway

An Armagh business is providing free dinners for those in need on Christmas Day.

This is the second year that Gringos Takeaway on the Killylea Road will be spreading some festive cheer in the local community with their Christmas Dinner Drive.

Owner Ali’s aim is to support people in the local community who may be alone at Christmas or unable to have a hot Christmas dinner on their table.

He said: “There are many people in our community who will go without luxuries this Christmas and there are some that won’t be able to have a hot meal on Christmas Day.

“We want to provide a free Christmas dinner to those in our community who would otherwise go without.

“We don’t ask the reason or need to know why. If you need a hot meal on Christmas day we have a delicious traditional hot turkey and ham meal with all the trimmings for you at no cost.”

Christmas dinners must be ordered ahead by Christmas Eve and can be collected from Gringos on December 25  from 1pm.

For anyone who cannot collect, Ali will deliver to them in the Armagh area.

To order a free Christmas Dinner, call Ali at Gringos on 028 3751 0300.
