Police searching for a missing man since mid-December have recovered a body from the shoreline of Lough Neagh.
Alan Whiteside, 33, was last seen in Maddens Bar, Antrim on Sunday, December 17 at approximately 11pm.
A large-scale missing persons operation unfolded over the Christmas period, with volunteers from Lough Neagh Rescue helping out on Christmas Day.
Sadly, just over two months after going missing, it appears that Mr Whiteside’s remains have been located.
In a statement, a police spokesperson said: “Police searching for missing person Alan Whiteside located the body of a man in a coastline area of Lough Neagh yesterday afternoon, Sunday, February 18.
“This is being treated as a sudden death and there are no further details.”
