ABC Council votes to reduce fees for young swimmers across borough

A new £1 swimming fee for all under 18-year-olds is being introduced at local leisure centres.

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has decided to extend the reduced rate which already operates at Banbridge.

It means young swimmers can now avail of the £1 session at the Orchard Leisure Centre in Armagh and Waves at Lurgan and Cascades and Brownlow in Portadown.

The move is seen as part of action by the council to harmonise various services across the three council areas.

The £1 rate will apply during public swim times and begins today (Saturday).

It will operate through until the end of August.
