Acknowledgement for the late Mickey Fitzgerald (Coalisland)

Fitzgerald, Mickey (Coalisland) We, the family of the late Mickey Fitzgerald (R.I.P), wish to express our heartfelt appreciation and sincere gratitude to all our relatives, friends, neighbours and work colleagues who sympathised and supported us during our recent loss of a much-loved husband, father, grandad, brother and uncle.

Thanks so much to Doctor Aine Herron and all at the Garvin Surgery who provided so much expertise and guidance to Mickey and to us during his illness, and to Canon Benny Fee for the home visits, prayers and spiritual guidance during this time. Thanks also to all the callers to the house during Mickeys illness, who brought gifts, sat with him, told stories and kept his spirits up.

We would like to thank all those who attended the wake or funeral, watched via webcam, sent mass cards, sympathy cards and flowers, and brought food and gifts. To all those who helped during the wake and supported us in any way, we will be eternally grateful.

Special thanks to the Derrytresk GFC and community who helped with the wake, managing the traffic, and prepared and served the lovely food after the funeral. Thanks to Jim Hanna who bag-pipped so gracefully on the morning of the funeral. We are blessed to live amongst such a great community, one that Mickey loved so dearly. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

To Father McCallion and Canon Fee for celebrating the Requiem Mass and adding those invaluable personal touches. Thanks to all the readers and Rosaleen for the music and singing, and to those who formed guards of honour.

We pay special tribute to Patsy Taggart’s Funeral Directors for their dignified conduct of the funeral arrangements and to the gravedigger for preparing Mickey’s final resting place.

As we cannot thank each person individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a small gesture of our sincere appreciation.

Mickey’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated at St Patrick’s Church Clonoe, on Tuesday October 11 at 7.30pm.

“May he rest in peace”
