Acknowledgement for the late Mary O’Toole Lappin (Granemore)

Lappin, O’Toole Mary.

The family of the late Mary O’Toole Lappin have requested this acknowledgement is posted in appreciation and thanks. Patrick, John, Elizabeth and the wider family circle wish to thank all those who sympathised with them on the loss of a much loved Mummy, Granny, sister, Auntie and friend to many people.

To all our wonderful family, friends and neighbours whose support during the wake and funeral was invaluable and indeed throughout mummys life. We thank the men who provided parking assistance over the busy days and to the ladies who worked tirelessly in the kitchen making tea for the wake attendees.

To all those who attended the wake and funeral, brought masscards and gifts of food and floral tributes we thank you. Thanks also to all those who travelled a distance to express their condolences in person and to those unable to attend but posted online their expressions of sympathy or messaged us, we assure you these were tremendously appreciated.

No words seem adequate to express the strength and pastoral care mummy got from the priests of CillChluana Parish both past and present and to that end a sincere thanks to Rev Fr Greg Carvill who visited mummy frequently and who celebrated a very fitting and personal funeral mass.

The funeral mass was greatly enhanced by the music provided by Catherine Grimley Hughes and Dermot McCusker, Donna and Danu McKinney and a personal thanks to mummys nephew Paddy McCusker for singing the 2 pieces of music which meant so much to her- Lady of Knock and the Blacksmith song, these were powerfully emotive and left us all tearfully proud of you.

Gratitude also to Noel and Patricia for the Sacriston duties. Particular thanks to Hockley Mews Nursing home which became a home from home for mummy, your exemplary care and attention to mummy was commendable.

We thank the community of Granemore men who dug the grave in such a meticulous way and to Granemore GAA for the use of their facilities to host the post burial meal kindly provided by Mary B Mone catering services.

Finally to Mone funeral Directors for the complete responsive and professional handling of all the funeral arrangements.

At the risk of failing to mention someone we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a sincere token of our appreciation.

Mary’s month mind mass will be held in St Mary’s church Granemore on Saturday, January 24, at 7:30pm
