Smith, Madden.
We the family of the late Martha Smith R.I.P wish to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who sympathised and supported us during the recent sad bereavement of Martha, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.
To our wonderful family, friends and neighbours who brought food, helped set up the wake, provided parking, taxis and stewarding during the wake, sent messages of condolences, mass and sympathy cards and who kept us in their prayers, we thank you.
We wish to acknowledge the carers who attended Martha in her home and the ambulance drivers who kindly escorted Martha to various appointments, your compassion and kindness was always appreciated. Thank you to the nurses and doctors in Tynan Surgery, Dr Bradford and team in the Mandeville Unit and Daisy Hill Renal Unit who cared for Martha so diligently and compassionately over the years.
A special word of thanks to the priests of our parish, Rev. Fr. McCann and Rev. Canon O’Neill who attended the wake, led prayers in the house and celebrated Martha’s funeral mass. Also to Rev. Fr. Moore (Middletown) who concelebrated Martha’s funeral mass and offered words of comfort to the family.
To Melissa and Simon Smith for their beautiful singing and music which enhanced the mass so much. To Madden Raparees GAC and St. Joseph’s PS for their guards of honour and to the Ladies Committee who provided after burial refreshments, we are very grateful.
We send our appreciation to Andrew Stephenson who so carefully and meticulously prepared Martha’s final resting place.
Thank you to Damian Smith and Sons Undertakers for the professional handling of the funeral arrangements.
Finally to everyone who helped us and continues to support us as a family, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Martha’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 9am in St. Joseph’s Church, Madden.
May Martha rest in eternal peace.
