Requiem Mass: Sunday, July 6 2025 at 12.30pm
St Catherine’s Dominican Church, Newry
As we approach the Month’s Mind of our beloved Katharine—our dearest Wife, Mum, Cousin, Niece and Friend—we invite all who knew and loved her to join us in a special Requiem Mass to honour her memory.
We, Katharine’s family, wish to express our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to everyone who reached out and supported us during this time of profound sorrow. The love and compassion shown to us through your visits, your kind words, your prayers, floral tributes, Mass cards, and your presence at Katharine’s wake, funeral Mass, and burial have been a great comfort in the darkest of days. Whether you travelled from near or far, stood quietly beside us, or shared a story that made us smile—your kindness has meant more than words can say.
To all of Katharine’s dear friends and former colleagues, particularly those from British Midland (BMI), British Airways, and Aer Lingus, your messages and memories—shared in person and online—have truly touched our hearts. Seeing how deeply Katharine was loved and respected by those she worked with over the years has brought us great comfort and pride.
We are profoundly grateful to the staff at Belfast City Hospital, the Banbridge District Nurses, Dr Cupples and his team, the Palliative Care Team, and Partridge Chemist for the exceptional care you gave to Katharine. Your dedication, compassion, and gentleness made all the difference—not just to her, but to us as a family. Thank you for walking beside us with such grace during this journey.
A special thank you to Fr. Patrick Desmond for his spiritual support and the beautiful Requiem Mass, to Catherine Grimly-Hughes for her moving and angelic singing, and to all who took part in the celebration of Katharine’s life. Whether you attended in person or joined us online, we are grateful you were with us.
To Bridget Mone and all at Mone Funeral Directors, thank you for your care, compassion and professionalism in guiding us through the most difficult of times. We’re also thankful to the gravediggers for preparing Katharine’s final resting place with such respect.
Our sincere thanks to the staff at Newry Golf Club (Flagstaff Lodge) for the lovely funeral lunch, and to Armagh Blooms for the beautiful flowers that brought colour and warmth on such a sad day.
There are too many to thank individually, but please know how truly grateful we are, for your support during this difficult time.
Finally, to our beloved Katharine —our light, our heart, our everything—we miss you beyond words. Your love filled our lives with joy, and your absence leaves an ache that will never fade. We find peace knowing you are reunited with your beloved parents and those who went before you.
