Joe’s family would like to thank all those who sympathised with them on their recent sad bereavement.
To all our wonderful family, friends and neighbours whose support during the wake and funeral was invaluable and indeed throughout daddy’s life.
To all those who attended the wake and funeral, brought mass cards and gifts of food, we assure you this was greatly appreciated.
We thank also all those who travelled a distance to express their condolences in person and to those who posted online their expressions of sympathy.
We thank all those who cared for daddy at home, the domiciliary care team of Ann’s homecare, the Markethill district nurses, the GP’s from Markethill Road Clinic in Newtownhamilton and to the exemplary care he received in Ardmaine Care home.
No words seem adequate to convey our appreciation to Canon Michael Toner of Lower Creggan parish for his pastoral support and celebration of a very fitting funeral mass and to the Rev Fr Greg Carvill of CillChluana Parish who attended Daddy at Mary’s home in Clady and the nursing home and who concelebrated the funeral mass.
Thanks also to Catherine and Dermot for providing the music which enhanced the mass and to Andrew Stephenson who prepared the grave.
Finally to Bridget and team from Mone funeral Directors for the complete responsive and professional handling of all the funeral arrangements and to St Michael’s GFC for the use of the hall to host the post burial meal kindly provided by McEntees catering.
At the risk of failing to mention someone we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a sincere token of our appreciation.
Joe’s month mind mass will be held in St Michael’s Church Newtownhamilton on Friday January 2, 2026 at 7pm.
