Acknowledgement for the late Gary Grimley (Madden)

Gary Grimley

Grimley, Gary.

We the family of the late Gary Grimley R.I.P wish to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who sympathised and supported us during the recent very sad bereavement.

To our wonderful friends and neighbours who left food, sent messages of support, mass and sympathy cards, posted condolences online, who kept us in their prayers, sent gifts and left donations in the family home, community centre and Long Nancey’s. Especially to Barry Hughes and his family and Paddy Mone and his family who helped organise the practicalities around the house, we thank you.

We want to thank all Gary’s friends and work colleagues from GMC Utilities Dublin who travelled up to the house and helped out. To all in Madden Road Bowls, Madden Footballers and Madden Indoor Bowls we are indebted to your help and support during the wake. To all the kitchen and club staff in Madden Club who provided refreshments after the burial.

To Gary’s friends and work colleagues in D Murphy Contracts who came together and worked so diligently and thoughtfully to prepare Gary’s final resting place. This gesture meant so much to us and we thank you most sincerely.

We would like to send our deep appreciation to Keady Rapid Response Team and the NI Ambulance and Transfer Team who attended Gary in his home. Your compassion and professionalism will be forever in our hearts.

To the doctors in Abbey Court Surgery and in Ward 1North in CAH and Ward 5D in RVH especially consultants Dr’s Lockhart and McCann. To the medical staff in The Freeman Hospital (Newcastle upon Tyne) Ward 24 especially consultant Dr Rybicka. We as a family appreciate all the exemplary care of Gary over the years and most recently.

To Fr Peter McAnenely who provided spiritual guidance to us at this most difficult time, celebrated Gary’s funeral mass and offered words of comfort to us. Sincere appreciation to Dermot and Catherine for their beautiful singing and musical pieces which enhanced the mass and to all who participated in the mass.

To Damian Smith Undertaker who provided our family with compassion and professionalism throughout this time.

Finally, a special thank you to Laura McGuiness, Gary’s life long friend, who was instrumental in organising Robert Mizzell to sing at Gary’s funeral mass. This was the most fitting and poignant tribute to Gary and we will be forever grateful Laura.

We are mindful we have missed some people but rest assured we appreciated everything and everyone who helped us and continue to support us as a family.

The Holy sacrifice will be offered for all your intentions.

May Gary rest in eternal peace.

Gary’s Months Mind mass is on Thursday December 15 2022 at 7pm in St Joseph’s Church Madden.
