Agnew, Carmel (Armagh) We the family of the late Carmel Agnew would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest appreciation to everyone who supported us in any way during our recent bereavement. Heartfelt thanks to our families, extended families and our friends, not only for their amazing commitment during her wake and funeral, but also for the wonderful love and friendship they displayed towards Mum throughout the years. We think it would be appropriate to acknowledge the selfless commitment of Carmel’s sisters Bernie, Maureen, Veronica and Fiona,
It was a source of great comfort to us to witness the huge numbers who attended the wake, the funeral Mass, in person and online, or who travelled to St Patrick’s Cathedral for the internment, many who travelled from different parts of the country commended on her absolute commitment to caring for the needs of others throughout her lifetime and is proof of the esteem in which she was held.
We offer our thanks to Fr Peter for caring for Carmel’s spiritual needs and to Fr Barry for his sensitive celebration of her Requiem Mass and for his thoughtful graveside service. The Spiritual Support from all those in Benburb Priory who organised the St Peregrine Mass for the sick. To Catherine and Dermot for their beautiful music and singing, which enhanced the liturgy for her haunting rendition of” The Working Man I Am”, following the Mass. We thank all those who contributed to the Funeral Mass in anyway.
We also thank those who sent supportive messages, prayers, phone calls and Mass/Sympathy Cards, letters, gifts of food and donations to the charity in lieu of flowers.
A special thanks to Eamon and Martin of E C Hughes Funeral Directors Middletown, for the professional and dignified manner in which they carried out the Funeral arrangements, and a special thanks to the grave digger.
We would like to thank Tynan Surgery especially Dr Grant for all her support and guidance following Mum’s sudden death..
Thank you to Martin, Patricia and staff of The Commercial Bar Middletown for the provision of food after the burial. To her lifelong neighbours Gabrielle, Gene and Phil who were always there for Mum at all times when needed and her extended neighbours.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a sincere and heartfelt expression of our appreciation.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions.
Carmel’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Cathedral Armagh on Friday August 12, at 7.30pm.
