Acknowledgement for the late Aoife Lennon (Derrynoose)

Lennon, Aoife.

The family of the late Aoife Lennon wish to express their profound gratitude for the overwhelming support and sympathy shown to them following her tragic death. It is impossible to adequately thank everyone, but we are deeply appreciative of the kindness that has surrounded us.

We extend our sincere thanks to:

· The Emergency Services – the Fire Brigade, Ambulance crew, and An Garda Síochána – who attended the accident. Your professionalism and sensitivity were truly admirable.
· Monaghan County Council for their assistance.
· A special word of thanks to Karen’s Garda colleagues, who not only attended the scene but also came to our home to offer comfort. We are especially grateful for the escort provided for Aoife from Drogheda to Castleblaney and for the moving Guard of Honour at Castleblayney Garda Station.
· The doctors and nursing teams who cared for Aoife so compassionately during her previous illnesses.

We are eternally grateful to our wonderful family, friends, and neighbours who provided immense practical support. Our thanks to the men who organised the driveway, assisted with parking, helped transport wake attendees, and prepared Aoife’s grave. We also thank the ladies who generously prepared and served refreshments to the many people who called to the wake.

We appreciate everyone who attended the wake and funeral, sent Mass cards, gifts of food, or beautiful floral tributes. Your presence was a great comfort. We also thank those who offered condolences by phone, message, and online.

A particular word of thanks to Canon Sean O’Neill, whose support was a pillar of strength. He celebrated a most fitting Funeral Mass, which was beautifully enhanced by the music of Catherine and Dermot. We thank the Sacristan and altar servers who prepared the church, and the visiting clergy.

It was deeply moving to see the Guards of Honour formed by Derrynoose GAC and the Armagh Ladies County Team, and to have Aoife piped to the church by the Morgan family.

Finally, we extend our gratitude to Bridget Mone and her team at Mone Funeral Directors for their sensitive and professional handling of all arrangements, and to Derrynoose Community Centre for the use of their hall for the post-burial meal, which was kindly provided by Elaine McGuigan and team.

Please accept this acknowledgement as a sincere token of our appreciation to all.

Aoife’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Mochua’s Church, Derrynoose, on Saturday, 11th October at 1pm
