Weeks of hard work finally paid off with the Christmas lights switch-on in Newtownhamilton.
Sunday, December 10 saw the culmination of weeks of hard work by members of the Community Association when the town’s Christmas Tree lights were switched on by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson Roisin Mulgrew.
The large crowd, of more than 80 children paid a visit to Santa, in his wonderful grotto, and made sure he knew what they wanted for Christmas.
The night was rounded off with a disco and a visit by surprise guests Peppa Pig, Sky & Chase from Paw Patrol.
The committee wish to thank the following for their help and hard work: Cllr Roisin Mulgrew; Cllr Barra Ó Muirí; Newry, Mourne and Down District Council; Keady Flowers; TK Discos; Brendan Davidson as well as Sky, Chase and Peppa.
Newtownhamilton Community Association thank the residents of the village and surrounding areas for their continued support, and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a healthy, peaceful and prosperous 2018.
