In Pictures: Aftermath as Clann Éireann end 58 years of hurt to return Gerry Fegan cup to Lurgan

Almost 60 years of hurt ended in 15 ruthless minutes at the conclusion of an absorbing senior county final in the Athletic Grounds on Sunday.

For Clann Éireann, all their off-the-field work has reaped the rewards on the field, as Tommy Coleman’s charges ended Crossmaglen’s attempt at claiming a third title in four years – and their 46th in total.

Conor Turbitt picked up Man of the Match, having tipped over eight points, two of which came at the death as the sides were level going into the final moments.

It was one to savour for the Lurgan men as the Gerry Fegan Cup – named after the club’s last captain to lift the cup in 1963 (incidentally, he also led the 1954 team to success) – returned to the Lake Street venue.

This is the aftermath of the occasion captured by Vincent Loughran.
