A Portadown man who cannot remember assaulting a male and female due to his intoxication will have to wait until later this month to learn his fate.
The 36-year-old’s solicitor told court: “He was highly intoxicated and has no memory of the incident so he can’t say anything to counteract her account.”
Brian Ardis, of Glandore Terrace, pleaded guilty to two counts of common assault and criminal damage at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
It was heard that the offence occurred on February 2 and that one of the injured parties was a female.
District Judge Bernie Kelly commented: “Was this in a domestic context?”
Defence solicitor Richard Montieth replied: “No, it was in a street context. He was highly intoxicated and has no memory of the incident so he can’t say anything to counteract her account.”
District Judge Kelly stated that a pre-sentence report would be required in this case.
Ardis was released to appear on September 27 for sentencing.
