No injuries reported after digger falls off back of flat bed lorry in Lurgan

Lurgan digger overturned

This was the scene in the Silverwood area of Lurgan this morning (Wednesday) after a frontloader digger fell off the back of a flatbed lorry.

An eye-witness, who was travelling behind the lorry at the time, described the dramatic moment the piece of machinery toppled off and rolled onto its roof in the middle of the road.

He said trailer appeared to be coming from Tannaghmore Gardens at the time.

Fortunately there were no injuries reported as a result.

A police spokesperson told Armagh I: “We received a report of a digger lying on its side within the vicinity of the Silverwood Road, Lurgan at approximately 11.10am this morning, Wednesday.

“There are no reports of any injuries nor road closures.”

The eye-witness described the road conditions as treacherous, with a lot of surface water lying, following days of rain.
