Countdown on to excitement of annual Farmacaffley point-to-point races

The countdown is on to one of County Armagh’s biggest and best sporting events.

At 1pm on Saturday, February 25, in the townland of Farmacaffley outside Armagh, the starter’s flag will fall, bets will be placed and horses and jockeys will be thundering towards the first fence at Tynan and Armagh Point to Point races.

An annual ritual now for over 100 years, Tynan and Armagh races are again promising to be an occasion not to be missed.

Point to Point racing gives race-goers the opportunity to get within touching distance of the action, so they can undoubtedly appreciate all the thrills and excitement first hand – action over 13 fences and three miles of Armagh countryside.

Whether it’s a day out meeting up with friends, or a family affair, grab the kids and a picnic, put a lead on the dog and head for Tynan and Armagh races at Farmacaffley.

If your luck is in, you may even back a winner or two!!

Farmacaffley is situated two miles outside Armagh city, on the main Armagh to Keady Road.

Six races will run, the first at 1pm and the last at 3.30pm.

Bar, on-course bookmakers, food outlets, toilets and free parking are all available on site.
