Police in Newry have issued a warning following a number of scams involving Facebook Marketplace and a number of Buy & Sell pages.
The incidents, police say they say they are aware of, are localised to the wider Newry and Mourne area.
A PSNI spokesperson explained: “These scams seem to centre around household appliances and electrical goods and involve people selling faulty or broken items as ‘almost new’ or ‘hardly used’.
“Please take care and exercise a bit of caution when using these pages, and remember that if it seems too good to be true: it probably is.
