Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious road traffic accident near Markethill this afternoon (Thursday).
The accident happened on the Bessbrook Road at its junctions with the Gosford Road and the Cusher Road.
The road has been closed by police in both directions as a result.
Motorists are also being advised to avoid the area this evening and that diversions are in place.
It remains unclear at this early stage how many vehicles are involved.
