Woman appears in court for overloading passengers after social event

A woman has been fined and received three penalty points after overloading with friends from a social event.

The woman, 28, of Main Street, Donaghcloney pleaded guilty to using a car in a dangerous condition at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Court heard that on June 24 the defendant had been at a social event and had offered lifts home to five of her friends.

She was stopped by police on the Portadown Road in Lurgan.

The woman had no previous record of any similar offences.

District Judge Bernie Kelly ordered the defendant to pay a fine of £75 over six weeks, along with the £15 offender’s levy.

The defendant also received three penalty points on their licence
