The Banbridge Road at Laurencetown has been closed following a serious traffic collision earlier this evening (Wednesday).
Police say the road may be closed for some time as a result.
The road has been shut to traffic between Bannville Roundabout and the crossroads junction in Laurencetown.
Access to Rose Hill is available from the Laurencetown side only.
Police are advising motorists to avoid the area and seek an alternative route.
There are no further details at this stage.
