Elderly man badly shaken after masked intruder ransacks house

An elderly man was left badly shaken after his home was ransacked by a masked man.

Detectives are appealing for information following the burglary in the Ardowen area of Craigavon, county Armagh on Friday evening, November 18.

It was reported that at around 6.30pm a man entered a house in the area and demanded money from the elderly occupant before searching the house.

The male made off empty handed.

The elderly man was left badly shaken by his ordeal. The intruder had his face covered with a scarf and was wearing a baseball cap.

Detective Constable Lauren Edwards is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw any suspicious males in the area yesterday evening to contact detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime in Lurgan on 101 quoting reference number 988 of 18/11/16.

Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
