South Armagh man faces prison time after admitting being drunk on plane

A Co Armagh man who admitted to being drunk on a plane could face prison time, a court has heard.

Kevin O’Hare, from Keggall View in Camlough, appeared before Antrim Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday following an incident on a plane at Belfast International Airport last month.

The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to each of the five charges against him following the incident on August 5.

These included: admitted being drunk on a plane; failing to obey the lawful command of a pilot; behaving in a threatening, abusive, insulting or disorderly manner towards a member of the crew of an aircraft; threatening to kill a woman; and assaulting the same female.

Despite entering guilty pleas a pre-sentence report was ordered by the Deputy District Judge Brian Archer due to the nature of the offences.

O’Hare was released on continuing bail to appear back at Antrim Magistrates’ Court on October 9, when he will learn his fate.
