Appeal to report suspicious activity after recent south Armagh incidents

Police are appealing for information after an attempt was made to break in to a house in Crossmaglen at the weekend.

It happened at Donaldson’s Road sometime between Friday morning and Sunday morning.

Constable Jason McMullen said: Anattempt was made to gain entry to a house through a back door and back window. Fortunately these attempts were not successful.

“We would like to hear from anyone who noticed any activity around this area during this time. We can be contacted in Crossmaglen on 101, quoting ref: 940 280615.

“We would also encourage all residents to report any suspicious activity you notice at the earliest opportunity.”

Meanwhile, police in Newtownhamilton are appealing for information following a burglary in Silverbridge.

Constable Neil Harrison said: “Sometime between  Monday, June 1 and Tuesday, June 23, entry was forced to a house on New Road. The property was vacant at the time.”

“We would like to hear from anyone who noticed any unusual activity or vehicles around this area. We can be contacted in Newtownhamilton on 101, quoting ref: 482 240615.”
