£30,000 for Camlough Christmas lights

Fews area Sinn Fein Councillor Turlough Murphy has said he is delighted that following his suggestion Newry & Mourne Council have invested approximately £30,000 into Christmas lighting decorations for the village of Camlough.

The local Councillor commented: “I put the suggestion to our council officers some time back about the possibility of placing lights in the trees around the village, which will not only brighten Camlough for Christmas, but will look tremendously well throughout the year.
“We have always been respected as a rural centre that has shown great initiative in decorating our village for Christmas and I am confident that these new lights and fittings will further instil pride in our community.”
The councillor concluded with a reminder that the switch-on of the Camlough  Christmas tree and village lights would be taking place on Friday, December 13, at 7pm.
