    Newborn lambs just eight hours old stolen along with two pregnant sheep

    Six newborn lambs and two pregnant sheep have been stolen from a farm in banbridge. The newborns were taken from beside their mums, some of which were just eight hours old. Two pregnant sheep were also stolen from the farm on Monday evening. A police spokesperson said: “This involved persons breaking into a premises and stealing six newborn lambs from beside their mothers. “These lambs were extremely young varying from three days to only eight hours old. “These individuals have then taken two sheep from the field who are lambing. “This occurred on the Lurgan

    Staggering 8,000 names removed from electoral register across county’s two constituencies

    A staggering 8,000 names have been removed from the electoral register across county Armagh’s two constituency areas. These names have been removed from the Electoral Register since the last Assembly election in May 2016. The Newry and Armagh area has seen 4,534 names removed while in Upper Bann, 3,451 names have been scratched from the list. The Electoral Office said that those removed from the list had not responded to its high profile canvass held during the Autumn of 2013. The canvass, which cost around £3.5m, sought to improve the accuracy of the North’s electoral register. It

    Buddha statue stolen from house in Monday morning burglary

    A Buddha statue was among a number of items stolen during a morning burglary at Banbridge house on Monday. Detectives are appealing for information following the incident in The Rowans area of the town yesterday morning. Entry was gained to the house sometime between 10.50 and 11.45am and a number of items taken, including a gold Buddha statue, along with a sum of money.     £435,000 funding to revitalise three Co Armagh town centres

    Almost half a million pounds will be given to revitalise three county Armagh town centres this year. Communities Minister, Paul Givan, has announced funding of £435,000 for projects to revitalise areas within Craigavon, Lurgan and Portadown town centres.
